ISIS Sound Art Lab

The Sound Art Lab was a one-off production and training period for 8 artists from the North East of England region wanting to upgrade their skills in sound art and live electro-acoustic sound performance. First of its kind in Newcastle, the successful sound art lab took place over 4 days, from the 6th till the 9th of March 2006.

The sound lab started with public lectures on sound art at the Tyneside cinema and was followed by workshops in LiSa, Protools and PureData at ISIS Arts. The lab was led by renowned female sound artists Adinda van 't Klooster, Kaffe Matthews, Zoë Irvine, and Marloes de Valk. The lab participants were: Miranda Whall, Clare Tavernor, Pete Hindle, Elaine Drainville, Dan Blackett, Matthew Smith, Jane Gower and Nicola Zena Lumley. The lab was rounded off with a public presentation at Tyneside cinema of all the work produced during the lab.
