Peter Westman / Penka Mincheva
(SE / BG)
Peter Westman works across various fields with an interest in objects and installations. Westman’s work stems from contradictions and how we can express unresolved ideas and complexities. Westman studied for his MFA at Konstfack University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm in 1992 and remains based there.
Penka Mincheva works in installation, video and stamp media. Mincheva’s practice explores the common, almost cliché subjects of visual art, such as the concept of the self-portrait. Mincheva studied at The National Academy of Art, Sofia and is a co-organiser of Process – Space Art Festival in Balchik, Bulgaria.
While at the Nomadic Village Westman and Mincheva will collaborate on the ‘Daily Temporary’, a nomadic newspaper with daily distribution. The newspaper will announce daily information from the village, publish ideas and opinions on art and life and collect stories from artists and local residents. The newspaper will be produced onsite from Westman and Mincheva’s camper van providing an interactive platform, open to dialogue and discussion, providing the Village with is own ‘paper’ social network.
