Research residencies
ISIS offers research residencies for regional, national and international visual and media artists for 3-4 weeks in our self-contained city-centre studios and training facility.
Offered to emerging and established artists our research residencies are hugely subscribed and unique not just in our region, but nationally and internationally. They include technical and critical support, and dedicated training and mentoring, we run between 4 and 6 a year.
Our residencies support artists at the early stages of development, providing a unique opportunity with the time and space to research a new project or idea without the constraints of having to necessarily produce a body of work.
Our research residencies nurture artists and their practice, this vital research period often leads artist to develop insightful, perceptive and considered ideas that lead to powerful works of art. We continue to work with a selection of our residency artists, helping them make their ideas a reality, showcasing their works within the public realm to engage as wide an audience as possible in dialogue with artists and artworks.
