Superdream - connecting the North East with South Africa
Superdream is a new project which connects two urban park spaces; Windmills Hills park (Gateshead, UK) and Jeppe Park (Johannesburg, South Africa) through a series of artists’ responses. Working with UK and South African based artists, Superdream explores urban living, ideas and uses of public space, and the role local communities can play in stabilising and redefining public cultural life.
The Superdream project is commissioned by the British Council for their Connect ZA programme. The Windmill Hills Superdream event is produced by Swallows Foundation UK and ISIS Arts and formed part of GIFT in May 2014. In early July 6 UK artists will travel to Johannesburg to present their work in Jeppe Park.
