New Features Launch on CORNERS Live
We are excited to launch two new features on CORNERS Live.
Bridging the Silence, by Deirdre Cartmill, Beatriz Churucca and Hrvoslava Brkusic is an audio walk and installation shown on a pedestrian bridge that represents the emotional journey survivors move through as they pass from the storm inside to peace.
It mixes fictional narration with real testimonies from survivors of political violence, domestic abuse, sexual abuse, homelessness and transgender issues.
We also launch the results of a new research project called Connecting People to Art, Art to People. Looking at the example of CORNERS of Europe in Blyth, Mariangela Dalfovo explored how and why we engage people in the arts, the role of arts producers as interlocutors with artists and participants, and case studies demonstrating good practice. The research took place between November 2016 and March 2017 and involved interviews with cultural producers, artists, our partners, and audiences.
This week we also welcome two of our CORNERS artists Lucyna Kolendo and Bojan Mucko to the region to develop a digital feature for their project [Voiceover].
