Collaboration with Ukrainian Organisations
This Autumn ISIS Arts was in Ukraine. Clymene Christoforou, Co Director at ISIS Arts, was on secondment with the Congress of Cultural Activists and CSM, two organisations energetically contributing to a new Ukraine through culture.
CSM are producers of art in public places and their projects draw attention to the social and urban conditions that affect communities in Kiev. The Congress of Cultural Activists is a collective of artists, writers, philosophers, filmmakers, architects and financiers from across Ukraine and beyond who came together after the Maidan Revolution in 2014 to promote culture as a vehicle for positive social change.
The secondment was as part of the British Council Canny Creatives programme establishing relationships between organisations in the UK and organisations in ‘Wider Europe’. ISIS Arts has now been awarded a British Council grant to develop our collaborations and colleagues from Kiev will join us in Newcastle in March 2016.
