Clymene Christoforou Speaks at Beyond the Obvious Conference in Budapest
Last week our Co-director Clymene Christoforou spoke on a panel at Beyond the Obvious in Budapest, the annual conference of Culture Action Europe. Beyond the Obvious 2017 'Europe, quo vadis?' explored challenges to the European project, from fragmentation and the rise of nationalism and xenophobia, to environmental challenges and the role of cities in creating alternatives.
Clymene sat on the panel session 'Fragmentation, nationalisms and culture', and was joined by Yamam Al-Zubaidi, Equality and Diversity Manager for Riksteatern, Sweden and Bel Olid, President of ALEC, Spain. The discussion contemplated the role of culture in an increasingly fragmented Europe, and how we as artists and cultural workers can be part of the solution rather than part of the problem.
