CORNERS Live is now online!
After months of hard work alongside CORNERS artists and media artist and curator Dominic Smith we are thrilled to announce that CORNERS Live is now online! CORNERS Live is a living digital platform created as an extension to CORNERS projects, which allows artists and audiences to share their experience of contemporary art anywhere in the world. You can now access CORNERS Live through your web browser here. Stay tuned for an opportunity to access the platform on your mobile phone or tablet through a new CORNERS Live App to be released soon.
CORNERS Live is a traditional gallery space, a radio broadcaster, and a television channel all existing together within the intimate context of the web browser. Using open source tools powered by Sourcefabric, CORNERS Live provides countless possibilities for continuous networked engagement through which audience can become a participant in the creation process of CORNERS artwork. Co-creator of CORNERS Live, Dominic Smith said: “Through meetings with the ISIS Arts team and the wider CORNERS diaspora it is becoming apparent that we have a real opportunity to build a set of digital tools and a framework on which artwork can thrive.”
This is only the start for CORNERS Live and its success depends on the contribution of both artists and audiences. It is very important for us that CORNERS Live grows and stay relevant, so tune in to check for new CORNERS stories on CORNERS Live’s innovative visual storytelling platform or to listen to a 24/7 rolling schedule of interviews, sound art, music and field recording shared by CORNERS artists on Radio CORNERS.
CORNERS is an international platform for artists and audiences, which aims to establish connections between communities located at the geographical corners of Europe. CORNERS artwork’s mission is to unveil the hidden corners on the map of Europe, to give voice to underrepresented communities and to shine a light on issues and topics of local significance to those communities. ISIS Arts leads the digital strand of CORNERS and works closely with a large network of partners in the North East and across Europe.
