( the tender indifference ) is a series of audio works based on field recordings from the artist's flat in Newcastle upon Tyne, 2007 and 2008. The recordings have been screened for their musicality and condensed into short musical works.

(the tender indifference) consists of nine songs, which are accompanied by self-activating photographic sequences in the browser, and lasts about 15 mins with a fast connection. At the end, the browser will revert back the usual viewing mode.

THE MINI RESIDENCY AT ISIS ARTS
Text by artist Zuzana Lola Hruskova
PROJECT TITLE: ROSEMARY'S BABIES / film / documentary genre

It has been 6 years since I began to create my private narrations. They are short videos, films or reportages based on rare moments that touched my mind. Some of them are of a documentary character and others work of fiction. My new film, Rosemary's Babies is a fiction documentary. It talks about the couple, which runs a flea-market business with artificial babies.

ZUZANA'S BACKGROUND

My work isn't about capturing for the sake of hope. I do not try to envisage the immortal of information, not at all. To me, camera or any lens-based medium embodies the approximation. It doesn't allow me entering the subject completely - it only allows me to de-composite peoples privacy, sociality, etc. I find it precious being approximate, but not an exact. When I photograph or film, I like walking around the 'victim' like a lost dog, predator - not being able to reach the target. That's what keeps me excited. I also think it is great to make things up for the sake of world, beauty or self - recreation. The image-culture same as the viewers need facing different realities from those they already occupy. Fortunately, people always want to know what the truth is and art supplies us with that. I do art to defend myself and many times, I go among people to be alone.

Ben Jones

Ben Jones

Artist/curator Ben Jones has been given the opportunity by the Freee Art Collective to develop one of their text and photographic works 'Don't Let the Media have the Monopoly on the Freedom of Speech'. Through research, and in collaboration, he will bring a new context to the original slogan and develop a project that will involve initiating a social programme. The group involved will be active in developing the project and the further dissemination of the slogan. The idea being that the slogan will be something that the user agrees with and adopts, as their own, before disseminating it further.

The Freee Art Collective use protest, language and text within the public sphere, and are interested in the politicization and critical interrogation of art. Freee's slogans connect with their interest in the public sphere - the space according to Jurgen Habermas where opinion formation takes place - a space where people can come together voluntarily to debate ideas through their own beliefs and reasons.

Ben Jones is interested mainly in web-based work, video, drawing and animation, exhibiting locally, nationally and internationally gaining commissions as well as working with communities and in schools on projects. He is interested in the disintegration of traditional social discussion and debate, due to media saturation, and how it now manifest's itself in many new and technological ways.

Kelly Richardson

Kelly Richardson

'Twilight Avenger' is a new video installation featuring a dark, enigmatic forest vista containing what looks to be a radioactive stag. Her residency at ISIS Arts allowed for the initial research and production for this piece which will exhibit this summer at Birch Libralato from July 24th - September 6th, 2008.

Kelly Richardson is a visual artist whose work mainly focuses on video installation, exploring the use of cinematic language to create part real / part imagined landscapes offering up visual metaphors for our modern 'reality' - a wavering hybrid of fact and fiction. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally at various galleries including most recently at the Busan Biennale (South Korea, 2008), Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden (Washington, USA, 2008), HALLWALLS Center for Contemporary Art (Buffalo, USA, 2008), Pace University Digital Gallery (New York, New York, USA, 2008) and KW|AG (Ontario, Canada, 2008).
