'Creativity becomes more visible when adults try to be more attentive to the cognitive processes of children than to the results they achieve'
Loris Malaguzzi

We were granted four awards to run research projects in four schools in Northumberland: West End First School in Bedlington, Wensleydale Middle in Blyth, King Edward VI High School in Morpeth and Collingwood School in Morpeth.

The main focus of our activity has been to examine HOW we deliver arts projects in schools. Teachers have worked closely with the artists involved to tailor the project towards maximum creativity.

Teachers and Artists have spent time training with the Thinking for Learning Unit in Northumberland and had specialist input from leading creative thinker Stephen Bowkett.

The artists involved are...

Jyl Friggens (West End First School, Bedlington)
Jane Gower (Wensleydale Middle, Blyth)
John Quinn (Collingwood School, Morpeth)
Kelly Richardson (King Edward VI High School, Morpeth)

(Click names for work made in each school. Additional work will be added as it becomes available)

The project will end its delivery in July and we should have our findings ready for September.
