ISIS Arts is a visual and media arts organisation, its core ethos is to facilitate international and inter-cultural exchange, support diversity and engage as wide an audience as possible in dialogue with artists and artworks.
ISIS Arts promotes the making, presentation and exchange of experimental media and visual art through artist residencies, commissions, exhibitions, production and professional development opportunities for artists. Initiating collaborative projects and events with artists, ISIS has a track record of providing quality arts projects to invaluably benefit individual artists, schools and communities alike, whilst promoting the professional status of the artist.
ISIS Arts programme seeks to address themes of identity and cultural understanding and we engage artists to produce work that challenges and presents subjects within new contexts, confronting our sense of place and pushing forward our desire to make the international local and the local International. The work produced is often presented within the public realm attracting new audiences for contemporary art.
Based in the centre of Newcastle, ISIS has a digital facility, serving artists in the region and energetically promotes an interdisciplinary approach to the use of new media in the arts.
ISIS Arts is a not-for-profit organisation and receives revenue funding from Arts Council North East and Newcastle City Council. Our media studio was made possible by support from The Lottery and Northern Rock Foundation.
